PROJECT 3 :

Architectural Folly

A continual development of the principles extracted from the building assigned in Project 1, Project 2 involves generating and craft an Introspective Architectural Folly that has spatial experience, with a maximum volume of 125m3 . The folly should respond to where we are right now that could challenge certain ways or postures by which we frame ourselves, our relationship with nature, and others. Materiality should play a key part in contributing to the spatial quality and experience. At least 30% of the folly must be enclosed.

DESIGN INTENTION AND PROCESS

To design an architectural folly which creates a maze like experience throughout the journey and having the sense of relief after passing the realisation state. By using the principles of repetition , grid and lines, we went through our journey and came out with our final folly design.

REFLECTION:

1.DISCIPLIN SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

I explored and further understood the senses and construction of new materials which is dry stone construction. I also acknowledged the importance of site responsive design and user's needs.

2.LIVELONG LEARNING

I did huge amount of research from the internets and did quite an amount of case studies to understand the affects of material, site and space to the user.

3.THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

The construction part required me to think of innovative and logical ways to promise the stability of the structure. Researches were done along the ways to assure the workability of the construction methods.
