PROJECT 3 :

Interpretation and Representation : Principles, tectonics and Sensorial Space

WhatsApp Image 2021-06-28 at 23.32.48.jpeg

The 3rd and final design studio project output is the combination & culmination of all the principles and elements used and discovered in the previous first and second project. The brief sees students designing a sensorial space that evokes a sensorial experience for the students ourselves during the period of the pandemic. With a selected dominant theme of emotion, the final sensory space should be a poetic architectural representation of the students' own reinterpretation of our tectonic structure in project 2. With the application of tectonics, materials, anthropometry, and ergonomics, the final outcome is a monochromatic interpretive scaled model and a complete set of orthographic drawing pasted on 6 A2 size presentation boards.

DESIGN INTENTION :

My design intention is to sensorial space with the theme illusion where the user experience hurdles and not sure and gets confused  whether the path ahead is the right path or not. The design elements and principles used are lines and rhythm. The banal action implied in this project is crawling, climbing, sliding and sitting.

REFLECTION :

1. DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

I learned about sensorial space in relation to our emotions and response  and materiality.

2. THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS

I improved my design several times to increase the practicality and buildability.

3. INTRAPERSONAL SKILLS

I was able to manage my time wisely in completing the project.
